The Office of Professionalism (OOP) offers confidential, one‑on‑one coaching to support faculty professional growth, leadership development, and career advancement. Mastercard–WCM Collaborative: AI/Big Data & Enabling Technologies Seed Grant Program

With the goal of helping early-stage investigators transition to independent research careers, this program seeks to equip WCM’s most promising senior post-doctoral fellows and early career faculty with seed funding to accelerate and amplify the impact of their work through the development and/or integration of new enabling technologies.  Applications from all areas and disciplines of biomedical and health services research are welcome. However, preferential consideration will be given to those with a specific focus on AI and big data-based technologies due to their potential for broader and deeper interlinked impacts on health and income in a population specific manner.

Mentored Clinical Research Training Program (MCRTP)

MCRTP is an initiative by Weill Cornell Medicine, the Meyer Cancer Center, Office of Faculty Development and Houston Methodist that offers physicians a fast-track program to acquire the skillset to develop a clinical research project proposal and embark on a clinical research career pathway. The program is aimed at WCM and HM early-career attending physicians who have a strong interest in clinical research and would benefit from a mentored course in clinical trial design and implementation.

The Blackwell Society

The Blackwell Society was founded at Weill Cornell Medicine in the Spring of 2021 on the 200th anniversary of Elizabeth Blackwell’s birth to honor the legacy of Drs. Elizabeth and Emily Blackwell, and to connect and support our faculty. Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell was the first female physician in the United States and together with her sister, Emily, founded the New York Infirmary for Indigent Women and Children which evolved into today’s New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital. Since its creation, the Blackwell Society has planned and hosted near monthly events to engage faculty members of WCM on issues important to the professional development of faculty, including Well-Being, Salary Equity and Leadership.

Thought Leadership Program

The Thought Leadership Training Program is a collaborative initiative between the Office of External Affairs’ Communications, Marketing, and Public Affairs division and the Office of Professionalism that equips Weill Cornell Medicine faculty to communicate effectively with the public about medicine and science. Offered at no cost to full‑time faculty and geared toward early‑career faculty while remaining open to all ranks, the program provides hands‑on media and communication training through three in‑person courses totaling eight hours. Led by the WCM public relations team and external experts, the program supports faculty engagement across multiple media platforms.

Weill Cornell Medicine K Early Career Award Training (KECAT) Program

The objective of KECAT is to provide grant writing training in preparation for career development (K-award) applications. The program is designed for early career investigators who are planning to apply for a NIH K-series grant or equivalent foundation career development award and will run over a 9-month period. Over the course of the program, participants will attend a series of lectures on grantsmanship and receive hands on training through discussion of previous applications. While in the program, participants will be expected to develop all components of their research proposal and will receive feedback from faculty reviewers.

The Women of Weill Cornell Medicine (WoW) Leadership Networking Program is a dynamic, cohort-based experience designed for faculty and staff leaders across WCM. Through monthly meetings, networking opportunities, and shared dialogue, participants explore the unique challenges and opportunities faced by women in leadership roles. The program fosters a supportive community, encourages professional growth, and strengthens leadership connections across the institution.  The program is open to WCM faculty and staff in leadership roles with at least one direct report. Participation is limited, and interested leaders are encouraged to apply; submission of interest does not guarantee placement.
