Office of Faculty Affairs

The Weill Cornell Medicine Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) safeguards our standards for the appointment and promotion of faculty. Our faculty members are held to the highest standards to ensure excellence in research, teaching and patient care, and advance the art of medicine through scientific and clinical scholarship.

The OFA:

  • oversees and facilitates implementation of all policies and procedures for academic appointment, reappointment, promotion, tenure and separation of all faculty members
  • ensures adherence to all academic policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to appointment and employment
  • serves as a resource for information related to academic career development, supporting faculty members from initial appointment to promotion to retirement
  • supports Weill Cornell Medical College administrators, committees and boards, as the official source of faculty data

 

Office of Faculty Development

The Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) Office of Faculty Development (OFD) is dedicated to building and sustaining faculty vitality through the recruitment, retention and advancement of a diverse and successful faculty community. Through advocacy, programs and events, OFD supports each of our valued faculty members in their skills development and growth.

The OFD:

  • Produces and sponsors faculty development offerings designed to enhance academic skills and optimize career success
  • Collaborates with divisions and departments on faculty initiatives that promote well-being, effective mentorship, academic promotions and leadership
  • Supports faculty success in all areas of endeavor including clinical, educational and investigational excellence

 

Office of Faculty Engagement and Inclusion/Office of Culture, Inclusion & Employee Experience 

 The Office of Faculty Engagement and Inclusion (OFEI) at Weill Cornell Medicine advances a thriving academic community by fostering an inclusive culture that acknowledges, appreciates and respects faculty individuality and intersectionality. Through intentional engagement, leadership development, and supportive initiatives, the Office promotes the personal and professional growth and well-being of all WCM faculty. By strengthening connection, collaboration, and shared purpose, the OFEI will create a unified global WCM community committed to transformation, innovation, and excellence.

Office of Professionalism

The Weill Cornell Medicine Office of Professionalism was created with the goal of upholding our culture of integrity with the highest standards of professional conduct. 

Our mission is to empower all individuals (faculty and staff) to contribute successfully, practice ethically, and excel in their pursuit of advancing research, education and patient care based on our values of Safety (S), Honesty (H), Accountability (A), Respect (R), and Professionalism (P) (collectively, our “Weill Cornell Medicine S.H.A.R.P” Values). Our mission is reached through our core functions, including:

  • Establish goals for professionalism efforts
  • Oversee policies, procedures, conflicts and grievances
  • Enhance faculty and staff awareness and expectations of all things related to professionalism
  • Advise and offer guidance to individuals and departments on matters related to professionalism
  • Coordinate education, training and development programs for professional growth
