The mission of the Office of Faculty Affairs is to safeguard the Medical College’s standards for the appointment and promotion of members of the faculty. Maintaining the highest standards for faculty ensures the ability of the Medical College to fulfill its commitment to "excellence in research, teaching, patient care, and the advancement of the art and science of medicine through the maintenance of scientific and clinical scholarship. The OFA:
- Oversees and facilitates implementation of all policies and procedures for academic appointment, reappointment, promotion, tenure, and separation for employed and non-paid faculty members
- Ensures that all applicable academic policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to academic appointment and employment are followed.
- Supports faculty members from initial appointment to promotion to retirement by serving as a resource for information related to academic career development
- Supports the College’s administrators, committees, and boards by serving as the official source for faculty data
