AAAS Mentor Award for Lifetime Achievement

The AAAS Mentor Award for Lifetime Achievement honors individuals who, during their career, demonstrate extraordinary leadership to increase the participation of women of all racial and ethnic groups; African American, American Indian, and Hispanic men; and people with disabilities, in science and engineering fields and careers. The award, with a prize of $5,000 and a commemorative plaque, recognizes an individual who has mentored and guided significant numbers of students from underrepresented groups to the completion of doctoral studies and/or who has affected the climate of a department, college, or institution in such a manner as to significantly increase the diversity of students pursuing and completing doctoral studies. This individual will have demonstrated scholarship, activism, and community building on behalf of women, minorities, and/or people with disabilities in science and/or engineering fields and careers through work at colleges and universities, institutions, or community based organizations. This individual will have served in such a role for 10 years or longer.

ACTS Clinical and Translational Research Distinguished Educator Award: Mentorship Innovation

The ASH Mentor Award was created to reward outstanding mentors in the hematology community. Superb mentors from any of the different branches of hematology are eligible for this award, including adult or pediatric hematologists; academic or community practitioners; basic, clinical, or translational researchers; hematopathologists; transfusion medicine specialists; and individuals working in industry or government.
ASHG Mentorship Award

The ASHG Mentorship Award honors ASHG members who have significant records of accomplishment as mentors. The Dean’s Award for Excellence in Mentorship recognizes a Weill Cornell Medicine faculty member who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to supporting colleagues to become academic leaders in clinical care, research, or education. Since the award was created in 2019, five exemplary mentors have been honored at our Commencement ceremony: Dr. Arthur Evans, Dr. Teresa Milner, Dr. Michael O’Dell, Dr. Erika Abramson, and Dr. Mark Souweidane.
The recipient of the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Mentorship will be announced at Weill Cornell Medicine’s Commencement ceremony and will receive a medallion honoring their commitment and contributions to mentorship.

Harvey Goldman Teaching Award

The Harvey Goldman Teaching Award was established in 2011 as a tribute to honor a dedicated, longstanding educator and mentor, Dr. Harvey Goldman. This award recognizes Dr. Goldman’s seminal contributions to the USCAP’s postgraduate educational and mentoring activities. The first awardees, Drs. Donald Antonioli and Henry Appleman were acknowledged in 2011 at the 100th Annual Centennial Meeting of USCAP in San Antonio, Texas.

The American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP) presents the Julius Axelrod Mentorship Award to an ACNP member who has made an outstanding contribution to neuropsychopharmacology by mentoring and developing young scientists into leaders in the field.
